Chris and Kevin Norris, previously the owners of Stonewood Homes Tauranga franchise, have undertaken a remarkable transformation on one of Matamata's homesteads, which been described as a "from nana-to-matriarch" renovation. This charming double bay villa has been situated on the same site since 1906 and holds the distinction of being one of the first two homesteads constructed in this quaint Waikato town. When Chris and Kevin acquired the property nearly 20 years ago, but they chose to take their time before embarking on a meticulous renovation journey. They cherished the character of their charming three-bedroom home for 15 years, enjoying its unique features before finally committing to a significant transformation project that spanned five years and was completed in late 2023. Throughout the renovation process, Chris and Kevin developed a strategic approach, starting with the new additions before tackling each room of the villa one at a time. During the weekdays, they would work long hours, allowing builders to handle the major renovations while they were at work. After returning home, they dedicated their evenings to cleaning and organizing the space. Kevin's background in building proved valuable, as it enabled them to spend their weekends enhancing the villa with additional details. Meanwhile, Chris who had experience in interior design from her time with Stonewood Homes, was well-equipped to make decor choices throughout the project. Although selecting decor for their personal home was a more time-consuming endeavor, she found joy in exploring various paint colors, wallpaper designs, and brickwork options. Now that their extensive renovation is complete Chris and Kevin are excited to open the beautiful doors of their home, inviting you to experience the results of hard work and passion during your wedding stay.
